I came upon an interesting site today – Our World. Our World is a National Film Board (NFB) initiative focused on digital storytelling. Through workshops with First Nations youth in British Columbia and the Yukon, youth work to develop web-based stories.

I was super happy to see that the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) has received a Library Association of Alberta award for its Aboriginal Library Services. The hard work undertaken by the Task Force (and documented in the Task Force report) has not become shelved and unused! More information can be found in the NationTalk news release.

Recently, EBSCO Publishing announced the release of GreenFILE, a freely accessible research database.
According to EBSCO, GreenFILE focuses on a range of environmental topics and includes scholarly and general interest titles, government documents and reports. Its initial release includes abstracts and indices for more than 600 titles, with a total of approximately 295,000 records. Full text [...]

What a nice press release to read…support for First Nations learning spaces and libraries! To top it off, the new building will be built to LEED gold certification standards! Kudos to the TRU and BC government.
