Hello! My name is Reegan D. Breu. I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. My parents were also born and raised in Canada, but my grandparents and great-grandparents originated from Finland, Germany, Ireland and England. I have an undergraduate degree in Women’s Studies/Native Studies and a graduate degree in Library and Information Studies. Most of my professional life has involved working with and for Aboriginal peoples, primarily First Nations, in various capacities: information services, community-based research and management.
I am Branch Head of the St. James-Assiniboia branch of the Winnipeg Public Library. Previously, I have worked with the Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER), Edmonton Public Library, The Business Link – Aboriginal Business Service Network, and other non-profit and academic institutions.
This is my professional blog. In it, I will share my experiences working as a librarian, explore a variety of topics that I hope you’ll find interesting, and share information that comes across my path. Please feel free to share your comments, feedback and/or introduce yourself.
Please note: The content of this site contains my own personal opinions and does not represent the views or opinions of my employer.
Reegan,
I saw part 1 of your post about evaluating CMS solutions and since we support and integrate both Marqui and Ektron I’d love to read part 2. I could not find in and was hoping you could let me know where to take a peek.
Thanks!
Kyle Bailey
Hi,
I am a MLIS student and I stumbled upon your blog while researching library services for First Peoples in a class on Information Equity at the Univ of Western Ontario — and I just wanted to say that your blog is great! It has a lot of fantastic information and helpful links – great job!
Thanks so much! Unfortunately, I’ve had very little time to blog for several months now. All the best in the MLIS program!
