Greening Libraries Unconference – April 22, 2008

Posted on a the SLA-DSOL listserv today was an announcement about a Greening Libraries Unconference, which is scheduled for April 22, 2008. Its focus will be on strategies for greening libraries.

I will provide more information about the Unconference as I hear about it. At this point, it is approved to go ahead, but a website, etc., is in development. The great thing about it is that it will be a virtual conference, so accessible to many.

The post also referred to a discussion about greening libraries that occurred during the Library Camp NYC. The notes of this discussion have been made available on the Library Camp NYC wiki. You might also want to check out the Radical Reference Green Librarianship wiki, which “is meant to provide a collaborative environment to develop a guide to resources and best practices to facilitate eco-friendly libraries and librarianship.”
